Online Poker Terminology - Poker Blue Poker Tournaments
Poker Blue, a relatively new online poker site on the online gambling scene, is hoping to catch up and if possible overcome much of the competition with the announcement of a brand-new “Big Fat Weekly Freeroll” tournament. The decision to start the weekly freeroll tournament came after Poker Blue observed the competition long enough to see what worked and what doesn’t with tournaments, as well as with game offerings, meaning that Poker Blue hopes to have made improvements in the way tournaments are run and in terms of game offerings in a way that will allow them to make a name for themselves as a leader in the online gambling and online poker sector. From September 18 to November 6, the Poker Blue "Big Fat Weekly Freeroll" will allow online poker game qualifiers to compete in Poker Blue games for their choice of a $10,000 seat at the No Limit Texas Hold'em, “Fiesta al Lago Poker” Tournament Championship to be held at the Bellagio Las Vegas from October 18-20, 2005. Each of the nine "Big Fat Weekly Freeroll" travel/game packages to be given away during this first promotional set of games will be worth a total of $12,000: a $10,000 seat, the $200 tournament fee, and $1,800 in travel expenses. Poker Blue’s “Chief Ambassador”, Yosh Nakano, said “There is a resounding desire for 'meaningful' freeroll tournaments in which players at all levels can win the opportunity to compete in tournament play where the prize money is huge, however the buy-in is prohibitive for most players at online poker sites. We want to reward online players in an exciting an meaningful way. We see a major void in the online poker market and we aim to fill it immediately with our 'Big Fat Weekly Freeroll' for seats at major World Poker Tour events. I promise you will be intrigued.”
