Online Poker Terminology - Online poker site to hold tuition tourney
If you were ever wondering how on earth you’d be able to pay for your college tuition, and are not enamored of taking out student loans that could take decades to pay back, one online gambling site is offering college students the chance to try and win their tuition funds a different way – online poker. Absolute Poker has announced that students have until midnight eastern time on October 6, 2005 to enter the Absolute Poker “Win Your Tuition” free Texas Hold ‘Em Poker tournament, which will take place October 15, 2005. All that is required for entry is a student’s proof of enrollment in a school, that the student be in good standing at that school, and that they have access to a computer.
Derek Dilberian, a University of Florida College of Law student who won Absolute Poker's spring 2005 “Win Your Tuition” poker tournament said he is looking forward to competing again. “After I signed up to play in the last online poker ‘Win Your Tuition’ tournament, I was sure that it was a joke. It was free, so I went ahead and competed and had a good time. When I won, I found out it was for real and, sure enough, my tuition was paid in full by a freaking online poker company. Are you kidding? You can bet I'm going to try to repeat my win this fall.”
As of right now, there are 10 main schools where students have registered in the United States for the Absolute Poker “Win Your Tuition” Texas Hold ‘Em online poker tournament from all over the USA. Penn State is leading the pack, followed by Indiana State, the University of Texas, the University of Florida, Purdue University, the University of Illinois, Virginia Tech, the University of California, Rutgers University, and the University of Wisconsin.
