What is it about online poker that draws people in? What about the game adds to its mystique? Poker has been around for a long time, and poker tournaments have been around for about as long as poker has existed. In the Old West, poker tournaments would draw participants from all over the country to certain frontier towns, where if they won they might actually settle down in those places. Poker thrived in the United States during an era of frontier-dreaming and nation-building. Poker grabbed the attention of the United States because Americans love to compete, and Americans love to win. And over time, poker spread around the world to become a very popular casino pastime.

Now, with the internet being the new Wild West, the new frontier not just for America but for the world, those who love poker can enter a game 24/7 from any place on the planet with relatively little difficulty. There are thousands of online casinos and poker rooms vying for your gambling skills, your money, and they are often willing to offer great promotions and other incentives for signing up for their particular online poker room (there being so many, it is often hard to distinguish between one or the other save for their promotions and bonuses).
