Online Poker Terminology - London to host poker lifestyle event in August

On the heels of the recent terrorist attacks in London, a new kind of poker tournament is set to take place in the British capital this coming August. The 2005 London Open is sure to be more than your average poker tournament. As if the $10,000 buy-in wasn't exclusive enough, participants are set to include TV and movie stars, musicians, athletes and professional poker players from around the world. Participants will not only have their chance to impress with their prowess at poker, but will get a special tour of Kensington Palace, backstage passes to the hit musical The Producers, a champagne reception on the Millennium Wheel and a custom tailor tour of Savile Row.

The celebrity guest list is set to include Mimi Rogers, Jennie Garth, Richard Kind, Peter Facinelli, Nicholas Gonzalez, Willie Garson, Jennifer Tilly and John McCririck. The prize pool for the 2005 London Open is a guaranteed $2 million pot. In addition to the various tours and passes they receive, participants will also be treated to a private concert and a $100,000 charity tournament. The "poker lifestyle event", as it is sometimes referred to, is the first of its kind amid a growing popularity for poker in both an online and offline setting.
